About Well, I uploaded the images I took on my Winterim. I'm so sad! The pics didn't turn out as great as I thought they were. *sigh* Oh well. Oh, and I might get a new doxie puppy! He looks like a golden retriever, but in dachsund form. How cool is that?! Yeah, so I might have an all new dachshund model pretty soon. Keep your fingers crossed!

Dear Ashley, Yeah, well that's the big American misconception put forth by American tourists that have spent 3 days there on some "McDonalds drive through" non-descript bus tour. I've probably spent close to 2 years there if I add up all my time (also having an apartment there) so I've gotten slightly deeper into the culture and they are some of the most polite people on earth - but you HAVE to be polite with them at the beginning as all native French are with each other. The kind of bickering and cursing each other out which you see here on a daily basis is almost non existant there. You know, when you visit a country, you're their guests, and you must behave properly. In all my traveling I've noticed A LOT of Americans aren't very good at that. Not a put down - just a fact. Check out www.ricksteves.com and read the section on the "Ugly American". He's based about 3 hours north of you (right above Seattle) so he's not a commie or anything. I can tell you all about the Japanese but that's another topic. Don't think what you see and hear is the way it REALLY is. Take Care, No hard feelings, Mark PS Everybody tha knows me tells me I should write a book about this stuff - maybe I should.

Huh. Personally, I don't think the French are very polite. But my friend Max explained to me the culture differences. And I think I understand why they act the way they do.

I looked at it again. It's not as bad as you think. It's pretty good - just change the titile. How about "Cow Food" since there's so much grass..........

Well, you had to decide what you were going for here. if you wanted a "Big country" feel / look you needed a more empty kind of space. OR you could have zoomed in on a group of cows instead. You did get nice light so it's not all bad. Here, I'll give you an easy exercise to do. Start a little notebook and every magazine shot you REALLY like (ad or editorial) rip it out of the magazine , put a 3 hole punch in it, and put it in your notebook. Then study the photo's and see how / why they work. You ALWAYS want to think were the eye's gonna go to first. Like on Michelle's shot it a no brainer. The models eye color is unique so you want THAT to be the bulls eye, next her hair, last, her pale skin. 3 points is as far as you probobly want to go. You were right - the black blouse is just a distraction - takes you away from the point you want to highlight. Now i can tell you who had one of the opinions on that remake I put up. My girlfriend was in the other room on the phone with her friend in Paris who happens to be one of French Elle's top people. I went in there and asked her to check it out on her computer in Paris. She did and the FIRST thing she said is what's with that crop (the original) Not exactly like that - the French are very polite - no joke. So all those little fans of Michelle's who just say "great shot Michelle' don't have a clue to what makes a photo work. (she has her little group just like pp) They don't critique the photo's - they just kiss each other's butts. It's gotten really sad on UF.It's all just little groups now. At least your comments are different and have some substance to them - I saw the shinny one (pretty original) Yeah, I meant stalker but he's a creepy guy to in my opinion. ALWAYS shows up as himself or Zert when there's a conflict going on - ALWAYS. In my opinion just a lonely, frustrated guy. We'll stop talking about politics - how's that. TTYS, Mark

P.S. I personally think my cow shot is crap. I just liked the light.

Do you mean "stalker" instead of "stocker"? I left my oppinion on Michelle's site. It really is a great pic. She's very good with light, no? I need inspiration. I feel very down after how my pics turned out.

Dear Ashley, The overall composition is good but IMO there's too many cows grouped together in the middle. still shot at a good time of day (late) when the light turns golden. BTW, do me a favor when you have time .Go on Michelle K. Latest shot, read my comments in the middle and bottom. Look at a rework my friend did and then leave your honest opinion. BTW, Dittrich is my UF stocker always trying to start touble. he's also Zert on pp's Miami boat show pic. He's signed up under AT LEAST 3 different names. Strange fellow......
