You have a sharp eye Hanggan... Well, life goes so fast and to me, imho, this capture is wonderful because it speaks to itself, telling the story of life and a fast train to carries it along. The cropped boy is OK, well could be enhanced with the depiction of a slowly moving train, but it's so OK to give the impression of fast moving life... And the way you process this in B&W, well it's actually soften the hardness of the real life here (in color you can see dirty ditch and stains on the homeless dress more clearly, LOL). Very dramatic capture!
Hello, JT. Thanks for your comment. Yes, I should have been able to zoom out a little. This occassion happened so quickly, and my digicam reacted so slowly. I had to press the shutter, otherwise the boy would have already got into the train, and the homeless walked away. I think this is a matter of equipment...:) Next time will be better. Cheers, my friend. Hanggan
10.4mm is not a "short end" of your lens Hanggan :) so you could zoom out a little. and you did not... so you cropped the boy deliberately! why ? whould not it be better to shoot a little bit wider ? cheers :) jt
