About I introduced you all to Tim Tam last week. Here is another photo of him taken a few days later. He enjoys snuggling up to people but is only allowed for a few minutes otherwise he would get a chill. He lives in an upside down cake container in our bird shelves with a built in fluoro light. When it is tucker time I bring the container onto the kitchen bench while I make his food. He can hear me making it and chirps away whilst trying to climb out of the container. Once he is out he waddles over the food cup where he known his syringe is waiting for him. He guzzles about 5 syringe fulls every 3 hours. A bit of a guts.

But the day after this photo was taken we had an upset. He refused all food and kept trying to lie down. This was not a good sign. Over the next few hours he starting fitting, but still refused food. I checked on him regularly through the night and he was getting worse. His eyes were almost always closed now. There wasn't much I could do. I knew the end was near. I didn't sleep much that night and was getting quite distressed. The next morning he was barely alive. I was getting to the point of doing the kind thing and putting him out. He still refused food.

Eighteen hours after refusing food I checked on him for the last time. And he greeted me with a chirp and tried to climb out of his container. I put my finger to his beak and he tried to look for his syringe as he used to do. I took him to the kitchen and gave him 4 full syringes.

That was yesterday, and today he has now got both blue and pink feathers and now hops up on my hand. So I would like you all to welcome back Tim Tam. He has now got a second chance on life. I do not know what happened, but I do know that he is okay.

So did we. I am sorry to have scared you. But I thought it was a tale that should be told. That good can come from bad.

Oh thank goodness he is okay, I would have been so upset, your kind words to me when you posted the original, I would have been so upset if he hadn't made and it would have been a bad omen for me at the moment, this gives me a lift a glimmer of hope - that things can turn round, you have looked after him so well he's a lucky little chap
