This photo is much nicer than #1, his body language including legs portrays much more boredom than the close crop withs oftening which has a studio fantasy feel to it. this one feels more visceral and more emotioanlly tangible.
If you want to change the image at all, I might try lowering the contrast and darkening the image, see if it looks better?? maybe change the color palette also if you like playing around with that, you can color the mood more and change the emphasis away from such a highly bright surface of the tables.
