About	This was an old sulfer bath used at the turn of the century in the foothills of San Jose..there were many of them in this valley..the entire area smelled like rotten eggs for the natural sulfer springs that flowed from the surrounding hillsides..ppl dug holes and lined them with rocks...similar to todays hot tubs..it was thought to be very healthy for many ailments...the place was left to fall into disrepair in the mid 1930's

Choise, have some in Rortorua, N.Z. but not as ancient looking. Could have told me this was europe and it was roman and I'd have believed you, this is the internet after all! :)
