What a gorgeous scene! And you think I live in a beautiful place? I am envious! You have mountains and old derelict buildings such as this! We don't have that here, only palm trees and sand and lots of flat land! Excellent image once again my friend! :)

Gosh Howie, this could be a scene from Braveheart! What a find! I like the lighting in this image. The shaded part makes the house even more lonely, damp and desolate.
Well seen and taken.

Beautiful color saturation and beauty contrast between the farm and the "yellow" hill behind.

I like this angle, you can see the farmhouse a little better. The colors of the grass and hills are nice too.

Wonderfully balanced composition with well judged exposure. I love the colours and the detail and think the grey clouds behind accentuate the mood. Excellent!

Love the colours in this shot, the exposure is great, bringing out all the detail in the stone work without overexposing the background. Keep em coming.

Lovely landscape photograph Howie, the lighting is great - so sad to see a farmhouse like this. A little TLC and it could be restored to a fabulous state once again. And wow that scenery !

Best wishes,
Steve

Thanks James for the kind comment. Dolgellau is actually is in west Wales. I live in a little seaside town called Tywyn which is in the middle of no where. However its about a half hours drive and Im right in the middle of Snowdon :)

Have a great New Year :)

Quite well done, Howie. I thought it was from Ireland when I saw it on the thumbnail. My guess is it's northern UK?? That name, Dolgellau, sounds like it might have a Celtic origin!

Great shot. Great use of light and I think the slightly off center subject works quite well.

James

Oh, and thanks for your comments on my hungry bird pic!

I really like the lighting in this photo. It's a very interesting old house. Great job!

I like your composition Howie but the background being brighter than the foreground, drags the eye quickly past the building. If the background colours were slightly more saturated and selectivly toned down, the building would have more impact. Maybe an ideal subject for a mono conversion with a suitable tone. Just a thiught. Happy New Year regards John

Cool old house Howie. By the looks of the construction it is very old.
