Exactly Mark, good point. When I first saw the work of Lee friedlander I gravitataed toward his almost unorthodox style and saw the avenues that were there to be explored, especially in the simplistic yet surrealistic manner of splitting an image, to me it always adds a edge, maybe melancholic but it brings a different dimension, one which many would term "incorrect" sadly, but at least is is never generic. Thanks for your comment.

Hi Philip

I was intrigued when I saw this image as I have not long since completed a series and an exhibition called split that used objects such as poles that divide the frame in the same way you have done.

I love the simple graphic quality of images such as this. It kind of goes against everything we learn when we start out on photography.
