Hi Verena, eventhough this photo clearly bears your sign and signature, wich I usually find very refreshing, intriguing and inspirational, somehow, this one fails to "connect".
Not sure why, but with this compsoition, the lighting effects in the reflection as well as the combination between static and dynamic elements I think it's a bit of a concession between two different shots. Difficult to explain thoroughly, but here I go:
The effect of th the lights with their softness and glow somehow does not quite fit with the static composition of the building. The two lights "sandwiching" the building, as if standing guard over it introduces more of a static feel to it, which, IMO, does not quite fit with what I would expect from such a shot.
As to the building, I heve a feeling there should've been either more space on top of the dome, or a much closer crop. The same basically applies to the statues in the lower section, which seem to be disjoint from it in this composition.
I attached a quite extreme crop to illustrate the atmosphere and feel what I refer to, not as example on how I think this photo could be improved.
Obviously, the above is a personal statement, and I sure hope you won't hold it against me...
