Yes he was hovering. He had a circuit which he was following. He hovered in about 7 or 8 spots for each circuit, but only one spot was suitable to get this shot. He was hovering for maybe 1 second each circuit as he went past me! I was cursing him by the time I was done. Pleased with the end result though.

It's a shame more people having looked at this, considering how difficult it is to get a shot like this of a non-static insect.
Pretty unique picture in my experience. Was it hovering when you took this shot?
