thanks for the info Sergio, I am buying a d70 with a 28-80 soon as it is the only lens combination I can afford at present. I think your pictures are a tribute to the 28-80g. I use a fuji 602 at present and have a +4,2 & 1 close up filter and a vivitar 285 flash. I look forward to using the d70. Thanks for the great pictures

Hi Paul, thanks for your comment.
I used a +10 close up filter with the 28-80 lens, otherwise it was imposible, the 28-80 is not a good lens. I also used the built-in flash so I could turn the background black and increase DOF to take the whole mantis in focus.

This is a super picture, did you use any supplementary close up filters or is this possible with just this lens, it is very good.

Amazing macro to show how resolution (6MPixels)helps! I use a camcorder (20X optical) with a memory stick. Yes the Jaguar was behind the glass in an enclosure, Henry Doorly Zoo, Omaha, Nebraska, USA. Nice making your acquaintance! See my Stagmomantis species?
