This is a lamp in one of the rest areas of the Chateau Laurier Hotel in Ottawa. It is a grand hotel in every way and has an interesting history. one story is in regard to its opening. It was scheduled to open on April 26, 1912 but just days before the new president of the railway was returning from England with dining room furniture, on the ill-fated Titanic. It was eventually opened by its namesake, Sir Wilfrid Laurier, on June 12, 1912.
