About Wanted to do something different. Taken at bad lightconditions.. hand held. Flash was used (pointed backwards).

Got the idea for the title from Gino when he asked me if i was a heartbreaker. He said that in a comment he gave me on one of my selfportraits. =)

Comments are welcome!

Excellent title ... the rose has a gorgeous colour and texture! A very different approach with that hand sheltering it. I do prefer the colour version!

Patrick,
A great shot with excellent DOF and composition. Definitely colour for me! I find the petals fascinating.
I do think (with Hugo) that it could be a little less close in.

Hi Thilo.. do you think the light is bad? In what way? To much or to little.. or not enough shadows? would be nice to know.. =)

Thanks for your comment my friend!

Hi Patrick,

yes, that's different. despite the bad lighting: great colors and detail. I would tend to say that you should move a tad away from the object... (to get more "flesh" from the hand) but don't quote me on that point =)

Take care,
Thilo

it is agood version but yours has the feeling of O.D. -an honest depiction- which means for me (my own terminology)the absolute feeling of the particular moment the way the creator saw it! Earth human colors prove it!

Thanks for the tip!

I'm unsure of this one Patrick, I think that it is a bit too cluttered to really focus on the idea here. Perhaps zooming out a bit more, and what about putting the rose through the fingers-having the fingers supporting the stem. Get rid of the baby's breath. I'm unsure of what to really suggest for this though. I'm glad to see you experimenting with different ideas, and not holding yourself down to just one type of photography~

Hi Patrick, I think the colour is essential to the atmosphere. very well exposed, and I think the DOF and high level of details making the petals almost tangible is excellent. Good use of metaphores in the subjects. The hand, protecting the delicate rose... Very strong!

I do think it's a bit closely composed, which closes the composition. Although that manages to grab the viewers attention, the theme itself would suggest a more open approach, but that's obviously my personal interpretation. Nonetheless a very creative idea, and well executed...

Cheers,

Hugo
