About	Mt Evans has more Marmots per mile that any other mountain in Colorado. Marmots spend most of their day sleeping in their dens. They hibernate in the winter and emerge in the spring. Between spring and fall, they will gain between 10 and 15 pounds, mostly by eating grasses early in the morning and late evening. You will frequently find them sunning themselves on rocks along the roadway.
