todd, i see a variation on jon o'brien's thought. looks to me like a seti project on another planet looking for us! i dig the odd building. doesn't seem to follow our typical symmetrical architecture. then again, i live in DC where it's conform or be shunned ;^) great shot!

take care,
tom

PS - this reminds me of another shot i saw recently, btw ;^)

i find this building aesthetically interesting but i wouldnt like to live in it... i wouldnt like to live in other planets,as well... i dont know where todd would like to live, but i know he composed the available elements here effectively enough to create an interesting image... i don't know how many somali immigrants would agree with me... they'd probably choose to emigrate to another planet... then i'd suggest giving them a copy of this photo to take with them as a souvenir... this nice pic could also make some extra terrestrials think of visiting earth and enjoy the accommodation... stop me NOW or i'll say more... :-PPP

...i should also mention that this particular building is known by many locals as the 'Ghetto In The Sky,' and considered to be a monstrosity. it's a low income complex that now houses many, many Somali immigrants. i think the building is fantastic, but then I'm a huge fan of Piet Mondriaan.

thanks for the comment Mica.... glad you like the Minneapolis shots...
i hope you do find an opportunity to visit. it really is a lovely city. and no voyage to Minnesota would be considered complete without visiting Lake Superior's North Shore, especially in autumn. thanks again for the comments!
cheers,
todd

Hi Todd,

great angle and view. title fits perfect ;-)
I would work a tad on the middle tone contrast to get more spice out of the windows and the get a bit light on the underexposed part on the lower right.
anyway, very cool perspective.
take care,
thilo

Do I detect a slight irony here? The juxtaposition of elements (and the title that ties them together) really works for me. Why seek life on other planets when the aliens are so obviously already among us?

Regards,

Jon
