About This wattle flower is only about 8mm across (.3 inch). I wasn't sure how it would turn out, but I am pleased with this one.

Excellent result! Very wel composed, the tones and the grainy effect create a superb abstract.

Larry. There was a background. I originally had another purpose in mind for this image but when I got it to the computer and saw it, I immediately wanted to do something else. That is normal for me. Sometimes I look at an image and no exactly what path to follow.

Anyway I have uploaded the original image to show you what I started with. I wanted part of the image blurred for another reason. Judi

Judi, Were you going for a minimum dof, that you used f 2. There is no background, so couldn't you have used a smaller aperature, or did you want to use the 2000 shutter, and needed your f 2.? Curious.

Ameed, I use those settings quite a bit. When I do a study I play with the settings quite a bit, to see what I can push the camera to. Sometimes I need to have the aperture at a certain level but depending on the setup I need to alter my shutter speed. In this case it was on a spray of wattle flowers. I took the whole image and then on the computer removed the one that I wanted to use and worked with it. Hence the resulting image. Judi

Very well done, the reason i was asking is, till now i didn't try to go Maximum long explosure nor the fastest shutter speed, i think i will need to test that soon ;) thanks for sharing the result, cheers,

Ameed, unless my memory is failing in my old age, I am pretty sure those were the settings. I took this image indoors with a lot of glaring light that was causing problems, so I had to have a fast shutter or else the images were burning out with light. Judi

I like ittttttt, and the grainy effect makes it looks nice, but do you really take this picture on 1/2000 and 2.0?
