I guess so! I always just avoided high ISO or ASA whatever because of a fear of that grainy image. Thanks for the tip!!

I understand what you are saying, and Im by no means an expert. However keep in mind one of the nice things about the 10D is you can use up to 800 iso and still get a clean image. Check out my hummingbird shots at 1/3000 sec, had to use 800 iso. Anyway, I like a lot of the shots in your portfolio, keep up the good work.

I did not really intend on getting the softer image but it was in harsh noon light and I had to open up to get a faster shutter speed, I had to take the shot fast because the butterfly was about to fly away, it did right after this shot.

Eric nice color and composition. I too wish the focus were better. It appears to be on the one antennae, and taken at a very open aperature. I would use one shot focus on the 10d if you are not, and take a shot like this at about 5.6 or higher. But thats only my opinion, perhaps you wanted the image softer.

nice macro...i just wish the focus is right on the butterfly instead of somewhere else. color is nice and dof is perfect.
