About A die-hard group of programmers descended on Wike Ridge golf club on Thursday, in honour of the Open Golf Championship, armed only with balls, clubs and a photographer (me).

This is the 4th hold and we were already soaked.

I think Roger's face sums it up.

I've just meddled with the Curves to get the rain a little more prominent and used hue/saturation to get the duotone.

Confession..... I decided to retire to the 19th hole and the solace of Guinness and golf on the telly soon after this shot. Got 180 shots in all, this was voted best by the office.

Very good indeed - the least Wike should do is give you a few free rounds. I have played there before years and years ago - I now shoot at Knaresborough ... emphasis on the shoot !

Hi Stephen,

Been a little quiet on the old postings this last week, just couldn't make a decent photo with tooth ache! It's sorted now though - well the pain's gone.

The camera's fine, mainly because I went inside for a few Guinness's till it stopped raining (3 hours later). I think I need an attachment on my tripod to hold a brolly! Every time you'd get poised for a shot, a gust of wind would blow it in front of the lens - missed loads of great shots and got a little frustrated.

I'll definitely take a look around for Golfing websites, the thought never really crossed my mind till you mentioned it. I've still got the colour original too.

You're more than welcome to a print too, been a few requests from around the office too. I've attached another shot, this is Anne's bunker shot - taken in muggy light so I opened the lens fully to F5.6 (can't justify an f2.8 yet, give it time though) and put the ISO up to 800 so i could get a still action shot in Av mode... came out at 1/500 sec. used a cable release too.

Cheers

Ade

Ade this is brilliant. Hope the camera made it through ok but to capture his expression and the perfect composition. Ade I would consider sending this to a few golf magazines keeping the same title. I am convinced one will buy this off you. (If so, you owe me a pint). There is a new magazine just come out called "Golf Punk" - find them on the net and see what they say !!
