It was a warm July night, around 10:00p.m.the moon was bright and there was some clouds in the sky, from my porch, I just liked the way every thing fell into place so i just set up my camera and took a few pictures and this is 1 of 3 that I took.
I dont have the book here with me, but a good moon shot, if I remember right is around 125th at F8 to show a detailed moon, the reason this is oblong, is cause the exposure is to long, and the moon moved through the frame, also no detail in the moon for the same reason, moon is brighter than one would think, the meter is fooled by all the black sky taking up the metering of the frame..
The moon in all three of these shots is somehow oblong. I have seen that in some of my shots as well, especially if I use an extender to try and get more magnification... Ten seconds seems too short for this to be due to celestial motion. Is there astygmatism of the lens elements?
