The crop should be left alone. I don't know why, but that extra band of black at the top is just what it needs. It is a spectacular shot; a favorite. Clean earth lines throughout, breathtaking earth tones.

Hi Aimee, love the layering effect here - i count five layers of hills (including the haze) a great sense of depth and distance. The tree or plant doesn't worry me as without it the photo would work really graphic and this gives a sense of reality to it. I think the sky is a little dark though. Nicely presented. Nice tension between the land and clouds. I would consider editing out the tree/bush at the right of the shot and increasing the saturation of the blue at the left.
