Hi Leslie,

The curve of the snake's body makes a nice composition, and the contrast of the shiny black scales against the textured tree is wonderful.

I *love* these snakes! We have them in the woods adjacent to our house. They're quite beautiful and noble, and they do a good job controlling the field mouse population (and any rats ... heaven forbid... that might be running around our subdivision.) The juveniles have really nice puple-brown markings which disappear (hence "obseleta") as they mature.
