What does "the image perspective appears rather flat and lifeless." mean exactly? Perspective refers to the angle or view from which the photographer, or audience, is looking. If you're going to critique someone so harshly, please attain a better vocabulary and understanding of language before you do so. If you meant that the tone or emotional appeal is flat, I suggest you look at your own photograph entitles "Bros. 1." Measuring light is a helpful quality in photography, I suggest you try it. As for what I was trying to accomplish, it was my first experiment with Avedon-typal open shade. I also added minor linear motion blur in Photoshop. Anything else I can do for you?
