I am a sucker for this kind of shot, always on the look out for them, but they are not so easy to find. Great shot.

There is so much to like about this image. The new awning is opposed to the distressed wood, the door, the canted 'OPEN' sign and broken step. It adds a certain small town charm. The reflecting sign is a great contradiction. You have captured reflections of the road and a car through the wavy glass yet we can stil see the people inside, or are they sitting on a picnic table outside. A great composition with an 'everyone gathers here' ambiance.

The ultimate contradiction. Only somebody who is paying attention would have spotted this opportunity. Great shot.

Thanks for your comments on Lone Tree. I am very pleased the way it came out.

Interesting reflection, I like the old building and the play with the signs.

Lovely contradiction. How many times did you walk past before you captured it! I agree about the saturation.. perhaps a slight nudge? Keen observation though.

Thank you for your welcome to usefilm and your nice comments on my "Way Beyond" image.

excellent capture.. good eye, like the building and that we can see people inside...looks like the small white notice on the door is fine print for the do not enter sign LOL

NOT FAIR!!!! You skunked me, man! My digital is still in the shop and I took one similar to this....but on film I did not develope yet!! (Mine was the outline of a Pizza Guy pointing to his sign on the window but from inside, at the right angle, it looked like he was pointing to the Subway shop across the street...) bugger.....you do get the credit. Good one!!!

I like the contrast between the "open" and "do not enter" signs. I probably would have never noticed it if I had walked by.

Yes, Hugo, the color saturation was a struggle mostly because it was cloudy. I originally spotted this shot on a day when the Do Not Enter sign was in full sun, making it more pronounced, but the paper sign on the door got in the way.

I'll have to return on a sunny spring day to get a better shot of this. Thanks for your comments.

Very original composition, Paul, well spotted. The reflection adds a very good conflict of atmospheres to this shot, it compliments the worn down exterior of the restaurant. I then noticed the "Open" sign... *grin* Very cool shot, well done!

Maybe the photo could use some colour saturation to liven it up a bit.

Cheers,

Hugo
