The softness adds a nice touch of "old friends hanging out"... it has a very personal feel.
The colours are wonderful as well... really draw my eye to the subtle lines and shift in focus.

What a soft and intimate image. In its simplicity and warm tones you have captured the essence of your title. Very well done. Regards - Bill

Hi Mary, This is absolutley beautiful. You too have a wonderful portfolio.
Thanks for you comments. As for the Canon 50mm 1.8 prime - you have to pick one up. It's probably my favorite lens. It is a steal for the price. I get some of my sharpest photos using this lens. I really love the shallow depth of field it gives me. I totally recommend it.

Just lovely! Wonderful tones of yellow, and smashing cropping.

Mary Sue, thanks for visiting my signmaker's house... you wouldn't believe what the signs say. There's one that says "Nothing." Literally. Then, more reasonably, there's the name of his business, "The Yamazaki Shop," then there are typical nameplates for houses, & ads for his work, including one that says "Did you know that if you get a new nameplate it can be very lucky for taking exams." (The last is a shameful appeal to worried kids and parents in Japan's examination hell.) Really weird. Did you find my panoramas that show the entire house? That's quite something. He has a tree growing out of the side of it...

I like the colours and thought behind this one... much closer than I ever get to my subjects. [grin]
