About I didn't have to do much cropping. Almost didn't post, son said I should, the only thing I feel is unique is maybe the little bug that flew up and landed while I was concentrating.

Sensual lines in this one, Debbie... very eye catching and stunning set up. As for this not being unique, i think you must have inhaled too much pollen. This is very creative, both with the framing and the DOF and so many more reasons. Good for your son to push you to posting this. I can't believe I missed it the first time around.

I absolutely don't think this needs f64. I like the painterly quality of it, and the focus is fine for that. If you stop way down it becomes another picture of a flower, whereas this way it has a lot of room for personal interpretation. Yes, I would use a tripod for a shot like this, but only because it's easier for composing and keeps things sharper.

Debbie, I disagree with Gary on this one. Some flower images don't need DOF. They can become other world, dreamy, or light mood images without DOF. It really depends how you are feeling at the time, and what you wish to convey. DOF always makes a flower a little harder, sturdier. Maybe that's not what you want to say. I like it and have shot many this way. To me it looks passionate.

HOW DID I MISS THIS ONE????? Thought I looked at every image. Debbie, I see the points made about DOF, but I love this image compositionally, including your buggy friend. This is very nice, you should be proud.

I don't think I ever thanked everyone for their wonderful comments on this picture. For those who supported my effort with kindness, you'll never know how it made me feel to read these and to encourage me on to a road of fun, happiness that photography gives me. Not to mention the beauty that I can open up to that is offered to us in this wonderful world that I have discovered. Thank all of you from the bottom of my heart. Much love and appreciation!!!!!!!!

hmm I dont mind the shallow depth of field, the color and the shapes pull me into the center of that flower.. its like an implosion of motion.like a fire being sucked in.. I like this shot alot,, great eye Debbie :)

Thanks everyone. You all should see me with my TRIPOD now. Trying to figure out to make a tripod strap like a camera strap and hanging it around my neck. (HaHa) Getting down on my knees is a bit of a job tho. (Nuther HaHa). Again Thanks to all.

BAH!

I like shallow DOF but with shallow depth of field you really need a stable base to nail it where you wanted it. Great job of seeing a nice shot :)

DOF...you'll get it, patience...you only need to nail it once and you'll have it every time...

Gary, I took this before I really noticed what DOF you used with your flowers. I saw the f-32 you used and it really had me going hmmmm. Will be trying this in the future. I am serious about the photography and really do like to see the stuff in action (like what results others have gotten with different DOF and such). I have a cheap tripod, but only have used for things such as my 2x which always shows a low meter reading,(higher speed of film such as 400 or 800). But with flowers, well I'll try not to be so hasty or lazy.
Thanks for all your help. Don't know for sure what I'll be looking into next...That egg thing? (Ha Ha) Sounds interesting and it'll be a few weeks before I can come up with something.
