About I need some feedback on this one. The contrasting greens, yellows and touch of red is what drew me into making this shot, along with the impressionistic feel of the branches. My husband thinks it's kind of boring. Did I waste my film on this one? Does it look too burned out in the highlights to you? Did it grab your eye and manage to keep your attention? I appreciate your honest opinions.

Thank you all. Your feedback is very helpful. The contrasty lighting is what I was the most uncomfortable about here. It was late morning with the sun just breaking out of the fog and still some pretty heavy dew. I'm thinking a polarizing filter might have helped also. Didn't have one at the time, but have since invested in one.

hi debi,
I like it. I think just the right side makes a picture on its own, so hope you dont mind, attached a crop here. H:)

tis contrasty but never a waste of film, never!
agreed, the later day warm light would be worth trying...

I think the colors that attracted you in the first place are the best part of this picture. But I can see where hubby is coming from, too, and I think maybe it's a matter of too much of a good thing. I was thinking of trying to relate that idea to Anna Nicole Smith, but then thought better of the idea. But I digress. If you go back when the light is warmer like Steve suggested, you might also think about trying to isolate one or two interesting branches to serve as focal points for your picture. And don't worry about "wasting" shots. Every one that doesn't come out quite right teaches you something, and that's a lot better than getting perfect shots every time without knowing why.

Some of the highlights might be a bit hot, but the overwheming impression is one of graceful repeating textures and patterns. The colors are beautiful, and Steve's suggestion about warmer light makes sense. You did not waste film! Nicely seen.

In my opinion this is very good job, a little bit to much lights but it's nice looking for the eye.

Nice idea Debi. Not a waste in my book. The light is a little too hot. Later in the day would have been better and would have enhanced the yellows with the warmer light.

Composition and DOF are very nice. This would be a good reshoot, late afternoon.
