Woodland is indeed a very difficult subject matter to make interesting or capture the experience of being there (I've never managed anything decent). I think you have done a good job with this one. :)

Hi Roger, I know very well how hard it is to capture the beautiful impression of such a scene - in most cases the photos are just boring, even if the light is good and you use the right lens. In this case, I think, you managed it excellent to transport the beauty of the place, the variety of different greens and leef forms. For me it's a 7*-shot.

Looks like an enchanted forest.
I know the poem well, having memorized it early in grade school and especially now that I live in the same state as Kilmer!

A place that invites one to explore some sort of enchantment. Trees contain all the wonder in the world, I think. They have so many fascinating parts, all worthy our attention and all beautiful.
B&W was an excellent choice.

Roger--its a beautiful capture the way we can see the entire length of the trees from top to bottom...Like we are standing there in the middle of a circle of encahnted forest. Beautiful shot and the b/w fits well...
