Nice shot here. You have good sharpness and DOF. I also like the background, provides good seperation from the main subject. I really like the spiked hair style on this bird. Thanks for your comments on my butterfly shot. That image was shot on my front lawn. The sun had just cleared the horizon and was behind some light clouds. The background is my browning (winter) front lawn about 50 feet behind the butterfly. It was a little cool that morning, causing dew to form on the wings. Since I was shooting towards the sun, backlit, I used fill flash to illuminate the butterfly, that's the reason the dew is lit up. Believe me, everything is very natural and unmanipulated in that shot. One thing that may make it look unreal is that I set the white balance to cloudy, giving the image warmer colors.

Amazing you managed to get one of 'em to stand still long enough to get this shot. Usually they are too inquisitive/hungry to keep them at a reasonable distance!
