Sarah, I'm in the same boat as you! I felt the same way, until someone said to me "What's wrong with white?" Gotta love USEFILM; lots of thought-provoking questions. :-)
Although sometimes, getting a color that matches exactly can really help a picture. It's very hard to do, but it's the only way you can use color, in my VERY humble opinion.
Cheers Sue. When I first started using USEFILM, I didn't know how to put the coloured borders on, so all mine were the plain white with black surround. When I realised how to add the colours, I seemed to think I HAD to always add a colour to enhance the photo. You were right about the white being the best one for this photo.
