Why call it a let-down? Just a bit more work, and you'll have a good documentary shot here - and as Peter wrote, this is not a scene that we get to witness every day.
The image has a good, dynamic diagonal composition. Although the helicopter and boat are not perfectly sharp (which adds a sense of movement and drama), the silhouette of the man is (or at least appears to be). That is important, because the man, although being the smallest subject of the three, is really the most important.
I suggest you rotate the image by about one degree to get the horizon more level, and crop off the sailboat and some of the water - something like this...
