Detail of St-Front Cathedral in Perigueux - Dordogne (France) by night. The original Romanesque architecture, modeled after St. Marks in Venice, was restored in the 19th century some say somewhat overzealously by Paul Abadie, and was used as the inspiration for the Sacre-Coeur in Paris. Representative of some cathedrals of the Southwest of France, where the naves are covered with a series of scaled domes, like Angouleme and Cahors.
This is really beautiful. I love the color of the sky and the lighting. The detail is so perfect that it almost looks like a painting. I love to see photos like this with a D100. (That is what I have.) It gives me great hope. Also, thanks for sharing the info on the cathedral.
