Looks like a fantastic spot Dave - Hope you get to spend lots of time there! Nice use of the sky and surroundings to get a beautiful shot... I like the way the tree frames the right half and the dock breaks up the expanse of lake. Very well composed!

Great composition in such a good palette of golden yellows and dhadows, Dave! The shadows generate the "solid" shapes and those golden yellows augment the image with the more "fluid" textures. And the fluid textures are captued in such a good detail on the surface of the water. I guess it is such images that one can look for hours, "walking" back and forth between foreground and background.
Oh, and not to forget, the details on the contours of the conifer´s contours at the right are subtle and marvelous. Good details but not a single trace of exaggerating oversharpening here. (BTW, what a tee is that?)
In the meanwhile I guess that the school of Canadian photographers may be one of the best to consult in matters of nature photography.
