I can vouch for that Photowla.
It was a friendly comment.
Note the aperture was as open as he could get but the exposure still very slow. If he'd gone for more dof he'd have got more bug but huge risk of blurr cause (the camera doesn't tell you this) there's no tripod. He's trading dof for camera shake - a real pain for macro shots like this.
Honestly, I read Rogers comment and knew there was an invitation to reply.

It is not a rude reply... it is an honest reply. I do not use technical data in my work. I just shoot what I like and set my camera where it seems to work. I believe it is not in the equipment... a good photograph is in the human mind and then translated through the equipment. Roger was laughing not at your request... he was laughing about me talking technical stuff. Roger has been with me for years. You need to go back through my photos and understand I have never taken a class on photography... and never will. Too often people get caught up in the details... and what they see in their mind never makes it to the photo. If you took my reply as being rude... you are mistaken... I am just honest and direct.

It was a request to you Jim but never expected your rude approach. I asked for the technical detail so that I can refer them if I come across the same situation. But it seems i have asked the wrong person. Have a great day.

Regards,
P

Yeah that is hilarious... but this may be even funnier. I always set my camera to record all the photo info in case I get dizzy and want to look at the specs. So, I actually do have all the tech stuff on every photo... but I never(or seldom) use it.
