About	This big elevator connects the High and the Low Cities at Salvador, Bahia (Brazil). It was built using pieces of steel imported from England in 1873. After his inauguration, has become the main means of transport between the downtown and uptown. It was overturned by the Office of National Historical and Artistic Heritage, on December 7, 2006. From the top of its towers, offers up the view of the Bay of All Saints and the famous market model. It has a height of 191 feet (72 meters) and two towers: one that comes out of the rock and punch the slope of the mountain, balancing the booths, and other, more visible, which parallels the first tower down to the level of the Lesser Town. The most famous elevator in Brazil arrives to transport 900 thousand passengers per month or, on average, 28 thousand people a day.
