About The presence of the traffic signs, the pedestrian, and the mirror at the depth were a good opportunity. This time I tried to avoid the too strong leading lines. Any comments would be very welcome.

Thanks a lot lot lot for all the time and the hesitation and the so close look, Visar! You know, the most exciting qiestions are actually those which are... undecidable! (Too much into mathematics, I know! ;-))

But then again that idea abot the crop...dod I get you right? Crop the right side, ey? And the result is very very convincing to me (for the time being! ;-)) But seriously, it gets much purer this way, doesn't it?

Thank you so much again and a big big cheers!

Cropped right side after Visar's suggestion

ah, well i just went over the shot again and really check all the details. and now i am thinking twice about what i said in the afore comment- found it a little rushy, :S
the pole in the centre i find it fitting, right there, actually very proper!! that is because i see it balanced very well; the stair's fence and the line from the bridge- on the corners. so that's fine. then the pole in the middle, dividing the composition in two.
the only thing this composition is missing is on the left side where unlike the part, where there's your main subject, there's nothing more than the empty street- and something complementing is needed there (maybe a car about to hit your subject :P)! ;)
now, on top of all that i would crop, vertically, a bit of the right side- that concrete part. and, as for the left empty part of the compo, we'll leave it this time! :)

so, yeah, consider this reply as a more punctual and accurate on this shot.

regards,
v.

hi again Nick,
yes. I agree with Gustavo and now you being ambivalent/ that you changed your mind about it. But, because i found it very essential to the shot, i thought i could pass over it and focus more onto the other complimenting details which is the mirror over the head of the subject.
however, putting the pole on the third would probably make a more succesful composition.

cheers,
v.

Thank you very much for the nice and detailed comment, Visar! My wondering goes towards that pole that carries the arrow sign right in the middle of the image. As I see it now, and also pretty much under the influence of Gustavo's suggestion for putting it more to the left, I am ambivalent about its place. So, doesn't it look like belonging to the left of the image somehow?

Anyway the mirror over her head and the arrow pointing at her were the main reasons fo trying that at all.

Thanks a lot again for your time to look!

Cheers,

Nick

There would be too much wall - ypu see it already at the right, Gustavo. But still, your idea is greatè! I should take some steps to the left and then turn the camera to the right for avoiding too much wall right in the face of the spectator? Or perhaps... why not? Perhaps that wall coule make the difference....

Hmmm, lemme retry that in all its variations.

Thanks a *lot* for the idea!

what is striking on this shot is the arrow pointing at first to the woman crossing the street. then as we see her looking on her right, my attention is drawn at the mirror over her head where i get a view of the road on her right side.
a very well set up composition, and the light by her feet is a beauty.
very good work Nick,

regards,
v.

Yo correría la cámara hacia la derecha para que el poste se situe más a la izquierza y se habra el ángulo entre el poste y la persona, pero bueno, hay que ver en el lugar si eso funciona....:-)

Un abrazo!

Thanks a lot for the suggestion, Gustavo! Should I take it with the post more to the left or the right? I don't know if it should be too far away from the person simply because then the arrow wouldn't point as immediately to her. A hard decision here.

Cheers,

Nick

Aquí me parece que el cartel está muy al centro y divide demasiado la foto quitando interés sobre la persona...

Un abrazo!
