Sometimes they pay me, and sometimes (as in this shoot with Melissa) we agree to shoot for trade, or TFP (Trade For Pictures). That means Melissa offered her beauty and poise, and I offered my photo skills, and we both ended up with strong images to use in our portfolios.
I have never paid a model unless there was a client paying ME.

Thank you, John. I employed a single 4-foot gold reflector, mounted high on a tripod and arm. I really enjoy extra-soft lighting, and it is amazing how soft even a small reflector, placed close enough, can so dramatically improve my shot.

absolutely excellent portrait! I think you have use here mirrors to change the light direction, as the quality of the lighting is PRO!!! Superb element the words at the side here...

It was late in the morning, so I took her under the bridge to work in the shade, and had one shaft of full sun streaking through about 10 fee away, so I set my reflector high on her.
