About I was born in 1958. A few years ago my mother died. A few months before she left, she sent me a package containg a lot of odds and ends stuff. One of the things in the box was a silhouette of me from 1963. I was in kindergarden. I remember the day we did this. The teacher had a very strong light smashing against us and then she drew our outline on a piece of construction paper. A few days after cutting it out, she held up each person's "head" and the class had to guess which person was represented. I don't know why I was hoping no one could point me out but, when my noggin was held up... it seemed like 400 students laughed, pointed and cried out, "Jimmy!!!" And years and years later... the actual head shows up in front of me again.

Yes... but you were close to your mother... that holds more dear than the stuff I have lying about.

My mother and I were not very close. Long story. Over the past 40 years we drifted apart. Yes, it is nice she saved things... but emotionally... we were not very close.

Yeah... history has a way of creeping into our lives as we get older... and making people say, "This, I like." It is simple and honest. Olga, thanks for commenting. You have been to my pics before. I recognize the name. And one day, a future moment... people will be looking at your pics and saying the same...

"I remember when..."

Wow.
Such a beautiful form.
I assumed it was cartoon.
I can see why she kept it.
(Does it help in any way that she sent this before she died so suddenly?)
So glad the teacher did it herself and not entrust any of your peers to do it.!!
