Hi Pat! Saving for a D3 is a noble objective! From all I've read, it should be a perfect low light sports camera. The price is beyond my budget, 'though. In two years time the technology will filter down to the Dhundreds series and at 1/3 of the price. Pity the guys who recently bought a D2x which is now worth less than a D300! I do have my D300 but have not gone on a shoot, other than tests and familiarization. I am not disappointed! Also, awaiting the new 24-70mm, f/2.8 lens, on order and expected by the end of January. This way I will be ready when a more economical FX body comes out. The 17-55DX, f/2.8 will stay with the D200 as a second camera and/or for the wife to use. Well that's the plan which should also include some favourable weather - other than incessant rain and wind. Hope you are doing better with the weather. Eb
Eb - I like the B & W rendition of this. The tall grass provide a nice foreground of the picture. When is the D300 arriving? I have decided to start saving for the D3....will take quite some time, but based on its capabilities in high ISO's...I am really interested to have it for night sports.
