Hello dear Yutaka,
Many thanks for your kind and informative reply!
My sentence about being tantalized was not a criticism; quite the contrary. The fact that the complete leaf doesn't show makes the composition even more interesting. The equation --which I like very much-- reveals a very realistic philosophy and approach to art and life in general. If I understand correctly, it reminds us that life and everything about it is a continuum, no absolute perfection can be achieved by human beings, and that there is always a place for improvement. In sum, it teaches modesty which, in my humble opinion, is a great virtue and much needed in the West. Thank you so much for this thought-provoking information!
Kind regards,
M.

Hi,thanks Minoo for your kind and sharp comment about mine, we orientals have an equation that P-5%I=P.---means perfection minus 5% imperfection lead to the next better perfection, then usually leaves some disharmony on it,ofcourse not only on art but also on calligraphy, building architecture, don't you think strange about the equation?

What lovely arrangement and combination of colours and textures. The cobweb on the leaf and the moss on the old wooden surface add a lot of atmosphere to the image. The withered colourful leaves bring about joyfulness, while the wild chestnut fruit promisses new life. I am tantalized by the leaf that disappears in the lefthand side of the picture. An exquisite beauty as always!
Best regards,
M.
