Hi Jim, I had almost this exact same conversation with Dave Stacey yesterday. His was an image of a stump, but similar soloutions would work. Two different exposures with a tripod and then merge the two together in Photoshop or some other program. Andre

Beautiful scene but I'm afraid the blown out sun spoils it for me. This kind of shot is devilishly difficult to take because of the extremes. If you expose for the reflection (which is what you did) then the sky gets blown out. If you expose for the sky then you would loose the reflection in shadow. Seems like you can't win :-( Have you tried HDR in Photoshop. It lets you combine two (or more) identical shots - one exposed for the highlights and one exposed for the shadows. I like what you are doing - keep up the good work.
