Hi, No, while our house is an ad hoc dwelling for many creatures, invited or not, something this size is not allowed. This is on the back door of one of our barns, a door we , fortunately do not need to use at the moment. They can be sprayed, of course, but they do eat a lot of insects and if not in the way, we leave them alone. G
Hi Jan, Thanks for all your comments. The nests are truly amazing - and inspire a great deal of respect!. All nests are made in one season, so, this one was started this spring sometime. I'll attach a full view so you can the whole thing since you are interested. We find the layers incredible. Cheers, Greg
Nice shot - great details. I have never seen a hornet's nest up close like this in a photo or in person - what an engineering marvel - will have to do some research and see if I can learn how the wasps build these. Wonder how long it takes them to do one this size?
