Yup, alliteration was big back then! My introduction to the wonderful world of alliteration came with reading about Reed Richards, Bruce Banner, Peter Parker etc etc etc in the pages of old Marvel Comics... nuff said!

Yes. They did that. In 1968ish the Mattel company came out with this toy line. I have a bit of it gathering dust. Major Matt had 3 astronaut friends/companions: Doug Davis, Sgt. Storm (both playing off the alliteration thingy) and then Jeff Long. Jeff did not do so well in sales. He was African-American and I do not think many of the children in 1968 were ready for him. Today, a Jeff Long in near mint condition outsells any of the others.

Another interesting one, Jim... nostalgic and fun. Major Matt Mason's Moon Mission.... you see what they did there?! Using all those M's?! :)
