Hi Tom, Yes, this plane was modified extensively. The present owner purchased it from an aircraft museum in the Philapine Islands where it had been on exibet for aproximately 20 years. He then removed all of the engines and replaced them with turbo-prop engines. At that time he may have added modern avionix so he could fly it all ofer the world to drum up cash for charities. this is a brilliant shot - and it looks like this is a modified aircraft (propeller now five, the end of the wing is a triangle now) but it is a nice AC

Hi George, Thank you for your helpful comment but one of the reasons that I used a higher shutter speed is to show the unique 5 bladed props. BILL NAGY

Good shot! When you are shooting propeller driven aircraft, keeping your shutter speed set at 1/250th will blur the propellers, giving an increased sense of motion while being adequate enough to freeze the motion of the aircraft.

Speaking of "Deutsche Grundligkeit", or German quality, 74 years and still flying, great capture Bill. You have alot of information too for us I see. Is it a hobby of you (planes)? Take care,
Klaas

Hi Nicole, Thank you for your comment. This plane is unique in that it was originally built for Spain in 1933 but when WWII started Germany took it back for submarine rescue. BILL NAGY

Thank you for your kind words Michele. This plane spent about 20 years in a Philapine museum, and was purchased by a millionaire and completely refurbished including an upgrade to turboprop engines and he now uses it for flyin's for charitable organizations. BILL
