Such history always is fascinating especially because it´s not that long ago. We also have such an old pump going down to a deep well in our garden. Fascinating! I´ve actually started using it for watering some of the flowers and plants in the garden because we pay huge sums of money for water. Thanks as always, Onie! Your hands must be hurting from writing all these long and good comments! I would look twice though if you started commenting like this: Nice one or superb or so and so*LOL*

:))) What a wonderful history of this building Annemette... I gather as you said *used* to keep their fish, that possibly now, everyone has freezers and no longer needs a community storage...
The water pump may be for washing of hands etc. after storing the catch... That beautiful roof line and the gentley arched windows, the starkness of those crisp white walls... Certainly makes for a stunning visual against that magnificent sky...:)))
Excellent plus a multitude Annemette...:)))
Onie...

Okay I guess I just have to accept that this is how the digital cameras work and show colours. Although not having the perfect solution never hesitate to tell me about such matters because it´s such a good way to learn more about what to notice in a photo and the differences between cameras. Take care

Oh dear, Annemette, I seemed to have opened up a can of worms here... it's hard to explain... I have for a long time thought that skies in digital photos sometimes look rather unnatural, my own photos included. I tried tweaking the image in Photoshop using the 'replace colour' adjustment, but it didn't really work. No, really Annemette, it's such a subtle adjustment... to really talk about this our monitors would need to be calibrated in exactly the same way. But no doubt everyone else who has posted comments on the photo would completely disagree with me... maybe I've just got dodgy eyesight!

I see - what can I do to change that colour? I wish, I knew exactly what you meant. I must train my eyes some more to see the difference between digital and analogue photos, I guess:-) Thanks for noticing such things!

Oh, and by the way, I wasn't the first to notice the shadow! Michele was! But I noticed it too all on my lonesome!

Annemette, it's not so much the strength of the blue as the colour itself... to my eyes it just looks a little bit 'digital'... a bit 'unreal'. This is a different matter from a vivid blue sky created by using a polariser, which I used to do a lot myself before I got into desaturated colour! I just think the blue needs a little tweak in photoshop to make it look more natural...

Ah you noticed the shadow from the waterpump! Also a detail that I really like which you´re the first one to observe. The sky is more vivid due to the pol-filter I´ve bought. I think that the filter in many ways gives a right impression of the blue sky which is lost without the filter, but I´ll take your words into consideration, Patrick. I really appreciate your thoughts and advice!

This is great, Annemette. I particularly love the shadow of the water pump on the wall... it looks so cool. My only concern is with the saturation of the sky... some digital cameras produce rather overwhelming blues that just don't seem quite right to me... I would like to see this colour corrected a bit. But of course this is all just a matter of personal taste. One of my favourites of yours anyway...

Øhm yes they do- good thing they don´t have partylights on them- I think your behind would get spiked if crawling around up there taking lux-shot.
