About This is called 'Devils Lake' and I pass it nearly every day on deliveries... There is a native Indian legend as to how it got it's name and I have written about it many times- basically the story in the shorter version is about passing under a full moon accross the center of the lake especially in a canoe it is said that 'No One Ever Returns'.... (??) It is insinuated a creature gets You ---
I am NOT kidding.

Michele:
I like this . . . I did a study of the eye paths and the lines inherent in this composition and I think cropping the right side would weaken the composition. I have no problem with the telephone poles either. There seems to be a slight halo effect around the telephone pole and the tree to it's left . . . though I don't think it's from any post work editing.

I charted an eye path which seems to settle almost in the center, then drops to the lower right buildings . . . from there to the details on the near shore and then back.

The tighter right side crop might throw the balance off quite a bit and would cost you some good accents as well. The image is nicely composed with layers and off-centered accents . . .

Just my two bits, but I'd leave it as it is!! :)

Regards,
Doyle I <~~~~~

Thank You Joe-- I do appreciate your ideas for improvements for my images--- and I really am picky about who I do listen too...
I will try anything - but the communication factor is most important-
You are very good at this and I didn't want you to think I was NOT Listening or caring , or interested ...
Your in-put has been very helpful- Not everyone knows how to help as much as they may want to- 'YOU 'have the gift.
I would always tell you if I KNEW how to improve your shots Joe- and hopefully that day will come-

Your Friend,
Michele~

Yes,I know Michele we can't have everything:(but I think the most important thing is that we are satisfied!!I have seen a lot of other countries until now. They were all nice but I like it also to live here in our small country.
Our weather is not always like now..hot or warm!!!Normally we have a lot of rain, therefore our landscapes are beautiful green! That is the reverse side. But I like it also to have sun:))))
Hope that you will have a WARM day,big hugs to you my dear,Nicole;)

Michele you take excellent images and we can only improve with experience. I sure do not feel you have a lot of problems. It's only my opinion, it's art and thus subjective. So, if you think my input is not right for your image be sure to let me know. I hope my input helps a little and I also hope you do the same for me and point out anything that you feel could be improved on my shots.

Yep- You are right -- I had cropped this image everywhere but not on the horizon...haa!! I do agree that the lack of power poles is very nice too... I just need to work on getting a cloning tool like You have !!! Orrrrr staying as far away from power poles as I possibly can -- which is do-able as the weather warms up there are many nice mountains for climbing with no worries about power poles !!
Thank You Joe for your continued support with my same problems.... I am a bit slow- but I do manage to show improvement that will make it worth your while as long as you have as much patience as you've been having with me :)) I didn't mean that it's not for my benifit to learn- but I have found that when you try to teach someone it's also a pleasure when you see they actually learn- right ? Well- I hope so :))

All the Best My friend,
Michele~

That's a beautiful area you live in Michele. Very nice shot with nice colours and clouds. They seem to be doing a lot logging in these shots.
I would crop it a little different to move the horizon up, away from the centre of the shot and delete the electrical pole and roof in the lower right. It would be something like this. Let me know what you think.
All the best,
Joe

Thank You dear Srna .... You are always positive, and kind...no wonder I am so fond of You :)
You are also right about the Indian legend--
I wouldn't want to cross the lake under a full moon :(( Not with all the history this lake has .... Plus I know so many people of the local tribe here... and they seem to remember well !!
Love, Michele~

Hi Nicole,

Thank You for your always supportive kind comments my dear, they are very much appreciated.
You are absolutely right , they are beautiful, peaceful natural surrounding of lakes, rivers, mountains and of course the Pacific ocean.... all within 1-2 miles of one another...I am really surrounded by beauty and I like to share it with everyone because I know some people live in cities, and never see in their life-time what I see all day long ....
My only very small complaint is that it never gets warm here...... Most people climatize..and I still hope for this day....but I can't complain because it is too beautiful for anything negative:))
All the Best my dear, hugs, Michele~
