I was walking about, near Parliament, and said to meseff, “Oh look! There’s the river Thames!” and “Howdy, Winston!” and some such rot… and while wandering the streets of London I happened upon a moment and the guards (Bobbies) said to me, “Sorry sir. You must wait there. We have royalty coming in.” Oh my! I stepped back. Almost bowed in deferment…
And then found the strength to say, “Can I take a photo?” (I know, ‘MAY I take a photo was/is proper Brit)
He said, “Sure. Just stand back.”
So I stepped back, got the camera (Minolta X-700) ready and waited for the just the right moment….
I ‘snapped’ then stood even farther back. I looked at the guard. I said, “Was that it???”
He nodded. “That was them.”
It was such a disappointment!
I thought I would see Churchill or Di (she was till alive at this time) or Henry VIII… or some grand parade of high-falooting titles from off-Europe…
And what I saw and snapped was this….
A simple image of a nondescript car with nobody inhabitants.
well they dont travel in their own personal limo like old mate they ravel with the discretion that their role demands.. nevertheless royalty my ass...have u seen "the Queen" yet.. interesting twist
