You're from Penzance?! Ahh, now we're talking! I fell in love with Cornwall a few years ago and visit once a year at least. I always go to Penzance and go to the Taj Mahal curryhouse off the seafront... one of the best curries in the world! My favourite place in the world to take photographs is Cornwall... I even wrote an ode to Dolly Pentreath once!
A much appreciated, informative and very agreeable comment you made. I thank you very much. You too have a very interesting portfolio, hope to get more time later to peruse it more.
I love masks... they are all the proof I need that there is nothing 'primative' about primative art. In fact it's quite the opposite... the famous works of art of the great masters are primarily judged on an aesthetic basis, whereas Native American, Aboriginal or African art (particularly masks) has a dual function - they can be judged as a beautiful object AND as a conveyor of precise meaning as part of a ceremony or ritual. To my way of thinking, that makes them extremely sophisticated... but I think people are wiser to that now than they used to be, which is good. Very good photo of a beautiful mask.
