About For Shirley! :)
Infrared film grain is incredible! Looks like noise to me.. hehehe... (I love you Shirley and I am being naughty...) :)

This was shot on B&W infrared in rather difficult lighting conditions, so I reshot several times bracketing with different exposures. This is the most overexposed and hence the super heavy grain. Only PS work is the toning. Although I have posted this to put a smile on Shirley's face, I still rather like it, as it is almost absurd. However, it looks rather good framed with a matching similar scene one :)

Footnote: Infrared really is weird... the model was wearing black, and even in the "correctly" exposed images, her dress comes up midtone!
The "real" title for this image is "Disenchanted".

Dear Misty!

Well... infrared photography (colour or black and white) is pretty much "hit and miss", therefore to bracket exposures is a good option to find maybe just ONE image to feel
you "won" with... lol...

Just the same, deliberate under or over exposure is (at least in my way of "fun with art") wonderful~ You are rarely sure as to the "exact" result... however, once you are more familiar with this media, you have a fair idea... :)

I do hope this replies to you as to your request re infrared photo techniques... if not, please feel free to repy and ask anything that I might be able to answer! :) ( I am not an expert... I am an adventurer!!!) :)

Loving Hugs!
Aniko :)

Thank you my Dear Friend Ali!

I am pleased you see the artistic work in this image... sometimes art seems to come about through "accidental" causes... :)

Thank you again for your warm comments which are always valued and appreciated by me very very much!

Warmest Wishes and be Happy my Friend,
Aniko :)

Oh Srna my Dear! You treat me as though I were a Queen! :)
You are so very sweet.
Thank you, I am sipping Spring Water, and I will "make believe" you have kindly brought it for me, as it is so hot here, I have not stopped drinking glass after glass of water all day and long into the night. It is nearly 4.00am.... time for me to go to bed, but I will have at least 3 glasses of water at my bedside! :)

Warm HUGGGSSSS!
Aniko :)
See you again soon!

You are so kind Dear Tatiana!

You are a great artiste... yes... do use film (do I hear an echo??? Is that no the name of this site??? LOL!)

REAL film is something I cannot "give up". I rarely "play with" digital. I am sad that film is becoming more difficult to obtain! Thankfully, I have a good "stash" in my freezer... some ancient, but it "keeps"...

Thank you so much for visiting and your kind words.
Warmest Wishes to you,
Aniko :)

Aniko, your art is inspiring.
You've made up an amazing picture again. It looks like an illustration for a fairy-tale. Love it much!
I think I also will try using film one day...

Thank you so much Linda!

I really do love grain even though this is over the top, I know. But then again, I like the composition and the "mood". I see you have read the "about". I didn't think anyone other than Shirley would appreciate it (with me "ribbing" her in a friendly manner...) :)

This "wrongly" exposed image is actually "growing on me" more than those that are "correctly" exposed. Possibly also because of the model's expression. She stood in the same postion as I was bracketing exposures, but she is not a statue, so her expression actually is the best in this particular image!

I love visiting you, and am sorry I don't get enough time. But I will be back again. You are a very fine photographer and a nice person.

Best Wishes,
Aniko :)

Well it may be a poor image photographically Aniko, but artistically it is very powerful and emotive, that face really adds to the eerie mood, definitely tells a story..I like the title "disenchanted", it fits the image well. Excellent work and dedication. Thank you for your very kind comments to me Aniko...:) Linda

Dear Shirley!
I hope I brought a smile to your face my friend :)

Yes, it is interesting that certain fabrics and other things alter in tone entirely with infrared B&W film! I once shot a portrait in infrared that spooked me... lol.. the model had very light blue eyes that translated to pitch black in infrared... looked hollow and VERY spooky!

Much Love to you and thank you for your comments and for appreciating the joke. :)
Hugs~
Aniko :)

Oh my dear Aniko, thank you so much...I do love it, and I 'get' the joke!:):):)

Now that Onie has mentioned it, I also see the 'face' in the light. It is fascinating that the black dress came up midtone with the infrared.:)

Hi Tony! Good to see you :)

When I posted this, I didn't want to work it in PS (if you read the about... it is really here in its "natural" form as a bit of a joke with Shirley.)

I might post a pepped up version at a later time Tony, and thank you again for stopping by and your comments are always warmly received!

Best Wishes to You,
Aniko :)

Wow!She looks like she's just materialised from a late-Victorian seance,I quite like that!Altogether I find the photo a bit flat.Maybe you could pep it up a bit in photoshop to create a bit more tonal range and contrasts.Still, I do like the atmosphere you created and the feeling it gave me!
Tony.

You are amazing Onie!

You see paradoxes/contradictions and those things that I do... I think you're the first person who has seen this image to immediately notice that in the "light" there is a dark face... lol...

Thanks hon. And yes, very "white noise" interference like on early television, I agree.... It's a horror movie! :)

Hugs~
Ani :)

OHHHHH!!!! Ani... Eyes... a face... No wonder she seems *glued* to the tree, looking fearfully to her right... Don't think I would like to step into the light either... ~~GRIN~~ Very spooky this one... and the grain makes it more so... :)))

Like looking at a very early film on television and there is a ghostly interference...:)

Love it...:)

Onie...
