Nice job on the macro...we have mud wasps here in Kelowna...and they are docile and easy subjects as long as you don't get stung...I like the fact you were creative with your lighting...cheers Dan:)

I havent been around for a while and this was the one picture I go to fist. I love your macros!!!! Simply amazing details!!! I only wish my vision was that good then I could get rid of these darned contacts. LOL Super lighting as well as beautiful rich colors. You did a marvelous job!!!! Kelly

Very nice colors and details. Isn't it amazing that you can set on f/32 and parts of the wasp are blurry!

Tim, before getting into expensive lighting gear, I improved on this basic principle by getting some stiff, but translucent, paper stock. You cut the lens hole in the middle. This paper diffuser sits on the front edge of the lens in portrait mode. It is best to score the top and bottom third so that the paper angles toward the subject. This rig is ideal for hiking as it weighs no more than a sheet of paper and, folded into thirds, is easy to store. Eb
