When looking for a authentic international restaurant, look around to see if any one dining looks like they may be of that nationality. My favorite Vietnamese restaurant serves this style chicken soup that puts your Mother's to shame. Rice noodle soup topped off with shredded white onions, fresh scallops, cilantro, and of course, chicken. It is served with a plate of bean sprouts, basil leaves, lettuce, lemon wedges, and jalapenos. All of these may be added. Oh, and don't forget the spicy hot sauce to top it all off. I like mine with a tall glass of iced coffee.
Thanks for looking, Jim. Sorry, I failed to include the small soup spoon in the shot. Most of the contents are eaten with sticks, held by one hand. The rest is worked on with the spoon, normally held by the other hand. It's not considered bad manners to leave some soup, but I try my best to down every drop. Thanks again for your comments.
You sure know how to make a feller' hungry ! As for me, I'd certainly like to be sittin' down to that bowl of Vietnames Nirvana ! ! ! You are so Lucky to have a Great Vietnamese restaurant so close to your crib...I will oftern drive the best part of a 100 miles simply to satisfy my craving for this stuff(Pho)...And It's worth every Hot Slurp!
