A 3200-as iso első pillanatra túlzónak tűnt, de a zaj és a szemcsésesség magyon érdekes hangulatot ad a képnek, uhygogy végredményben érdemes volt!:)
Nagyon jó kép Gratulálok!

Yes, sad but true.......
And Mt Dandenong! Well, yes! That would be me! :)
I also am grateful that the residents and firefighters got a break... but who knows for how long??? :(

Sadly Ani, natural respect, is not in abundance... and like a lot of lifes other daily issues, it is left off the *life learning* agenda...
Many today do not honour age...They shy away through fear of the aknowledging reality...
.............
I know... Absolutely freezing here, with cold winds... Brother-in-law rang and said about the hail etc... (husbands family all Melbourne, from Mt Dandenong to Diamond Creek and in between... :)
...Thank heavens the residents and fire fighters are at least getting a break, be it probably a small one... The devastation is horrific on all fronts...
Take care...
Onie... :)

Thank you Dear Onie!
You summed it up so well...
"for they are we... and we, are they..."
I agree also that "aging" should be a subject taught! And may I add, that I feel it is sad thing... for respecting those in the twightlight of life, in my opinion, should be a natural thing to all fellow human beings... alas... all too often, it is not.
Loving Hugs~ Ani x x x
PS:
Christmas was interesting! LOL! A white Christmas in fact! Here, only hail whitened the landscape, but there was plenty of snow on the higher peaks! :) I'm pleased as it has eased the horrific fire situations we have/are and will be again experiencing.
I wasn't too keen that we had a power outage most of the day though... lol... never mind! :)

Ani...:)
I worked with elderly members of our community for many years... Agree wholeheartedly on the respect issue... for they are we... and we, are they...
When the odd *carer* would be rude and disrespectful, with no appologies... the hurt and sadness was palpable... I would whisper in their ear that their, the carers, turn would come...
I felt honored in hearing their telling of the lives they had lived...
The hardships that we will never know, simple joys that progress has ruled obsolete, the heartaches of lost loves and children... the pleasure and pain... secrets... laughter and even sex and childbirth... The fear of no longer being viable and thrown aside... The acceptance, and non acceptance, of the individual on life nearing its closure was and is a lesson in humility...
For me, aging should be a subject taught, compulsorily, in schools... With the elderly as the teacher... It just may help in making sure that the right people study to become the *carers*...
There was one lady who lived to 106, ~~GRIN~~ at 99, she was up on her roof trying to fix some guttering because the plumber didn't show... and another at 93, who told her GP, if he could guarantee her another ten yrs. she'd think about giving up smoking...
The fire in the eyes is magic... may it never fade... :)
Thank you for this capture...
Onie...

You're a Dear, Michele...
Do you think so? That I do things to make Life better? I wish!!! I don't know that I am one to be so appreciated or respected, but thank you for saying so, and I feel you mean it sincerely. The feeling is mutual.
Hugs to you ~ Aniko :)

I know there is no need to reply my Dear Michele...However I will..
No, this gentleman has not seen this image. But I once did a project for the International Year of the Aged, photographing valuable human individuals with so much Life experience and endurance... Many calendars and diaries were made featuring those images, I am very pleased to say! Also the photographs were exhibited nationally for many many months (possibly a year) from state to state in different galleries etc.as a sign of respect to people that society sadly all too often "shuns".
The shot of this dear fellow at the time had not been made... otherwise I feel I would have submitted it.
Much Love, Aniko :)

Just had to say that dear .... No need to reply ...

Thank you Dear Michele!
The only film I had at the ready (actually, I mean the only camera I had out of my bag of many, at the time) was loaded with 3200 ISO film. I could not pass up the oportunity to grab this shot.
The story: This dear old gent was "the gate keeper" at a local event, and was very serious about his job which involved listening to the car park attendant (on a two way radio) letting him know which car park to direct traffic to :) I feel that even for a quick grab shot, this is an important "photo-journalistic documentation" of a very important fellow member of our community, when too often, people have little respect for those who are aged. It might not be my most spectacular artistic photograph, but it means a great deal to me... I respect everyone and this charming gentleman is obviously proud to be working, even if only for the day. Bless his soul!
Much Love, Aniko :)
